Hi, I’m Yinka — a Nigerian-born singer-songwriter living in Canada. My music blends soulful melodies with honest, reflective lyrics, shaped by the highs, lows, and everything in between. My journey with words started early. As a child, I found comfort in poetry — writing pages of thoughts and feelings that I couldn’t always say out loud. That love for expression eventually turned into songwriting, and I’ve been using music to tell stories ever since.
In 2018, I released my debut single Options in collaboration with Remy Baggins, marking the beginning of my journey as an artist. A few years later, I wrote Fire — a tribute to the victims of the #EndSARS movement in Nigeria — using my voice to speak to pain, protest, and hope.
In 2021, I relocated to Canada to pursue my master’s degree. That move brought a lot of change and growth — and with it, a pause. I stepped back from releasing music for a while, but I never stopped writing. Behind the scenes, I kept creating — songs that reflect the evolution of who I am, what I’ve felt, and where I’m headed.
I’m finding my way back to music with a new sense of intention. I’m excited to share what I’ve been working on — stories shaped by growth, healing, and the real-life moments in between.
